Resolved Question: Demographics in support of Prop 8 in California?

I am not here to preach whether someone's happiness should be determined by others or how each person should feel about Prop 8 (banning Same-Sex marriage). I am here to state the facts and to look what you guys think is the reasoning behind voter's decisions. According to the polls: Top 3 Counties in Support of Prop 8: 1) Kern County (city of Bakersfield included)-75% (Yes), 25% (No) 2) Tulare County (Cheese/dairy capital of CA)-75% (Yes), 25% (No) 3) Kings County (Next To Tulare County in the San Joaquin Valley)-74% (Yes), 26% (No) Demographics in Support of Prop 8: Black Voters-75% Latino Voters-53% White Voters-49% Asian Voters-49% NOT to sound racist or be a bigot but I find it interesting that certain demographic groups would vote in high numbers taking away Civil Liberties of others when they in turn call out, bloody murder when they too have worked so difficult for acceptance of being apart of the American Dream and its fundamental freedoms for which it preaches. What's your take on this? County? Demographics?

Resolved Question: Breakup, here's what happened. What's your opinion on this?

So me and my boyfriend went out to dinner last night, everything was fine. He told me about these airline ticket vouchers that he got. We live in Los Angeles he works in Lancaster, so at dinner he says that he wants to stay out there for a week to look how it is not having to make that steer everyday. So I thought nothing of it until we receive home. It turns out he bought to sets of vouchers one set he is going to send back to Ohio. ( He is from Ohio and he was just in Ohio a few months back for about two months) So I think he is sending the vouchers to a girl back in Ohio, so I bring it up, he gets mad and says he's moving out. Because of the remarks that I made about him sending the vouchers to the girl in Ohio. Is he mad because I put two and two together and realized what he was doing? Or am I in the wrong? If I am wrong for what I said, don't you think that if he really cared about me he would stay and work this out? 19 hours ago - 3 days left to answer. Additional Details 5 minutes ago So I spoke to him last night, asked him if he was really going to leave, he tells me yes, I start crying in front of him. I told him that if you care for the person you stay and receive through it. Do you think he is just taking the easy way out? He says he cant stay because arguments turn in to worse things than just arguments. This hurts me so much. He says if he stays it will just receive more complicated. What do you think of this situation. UPDATE!!!!! So he stayed, we talked he said he didn't want to leave. He took me out that weekend had a nice dinner and went to the movies. The following week he comes home and says he has to go out to Bakersfield to work for the relax of the week. He left on Wensday (from los angeles to bakersfield is a real long steer, so he is staying at a hotel.) Now I can't help but to think he's not coming back. What do I do? I have asked him and he says he will be back Sat or Sunday. I dont want to nag him about it. Am I just feeling this way because we just had an argument?

Millions from every over the world travel to Mecca every year to do the hajj. It is the fifth pillar in Islam; Muslims are supposed to visit Mecca at least once in their life time. Last Friday, when our group visited the mosque, the lecture in the mosque was about the Hajj. The imam of the mosque was discussing the hajj, and he was claiming that Muslims seems to forget that the Hajj is the fifth pillar in Islam which is very important to them. The imam was discussing how Muslims around the world seem to find excuses for not going to this sacred place. Muslims are supposed to perform this pillar if they have enough money and if they are healthy enough to make it. Other than these two excuses, God will have his punishment for those who could make it and did not. It was interesting in the mosque’s speech that the imam mentioned that whoever could go to the hajj and didn’t will die the same as a Christian or a Jew. It looked like Jews and Christians are the bad people and whoever does not go to Saudi Arabia will be at the Christians and the Jews level. Finally, the imam asked for donations for those who can donate money for the needy Muslims in Bakersfield to be able to go to the Hajj this year. The Hajj is a symbol of untied Muslims around the world. It is a way to examine and look at the problems and issues facing their people. It is the process of showing equality between the prince and the regular citizen, also between the wealthy and the needy. They are supposed to be at the same level. There is no discrimination: Clothing, food, location is every the same for the wealthy and the needy, for the black and the white. Muslims dressing for the hajj is a little bit different that the regular clothes. For men, they are supposed to have two pieces of white clothes to cover the body. For women, they are supposed to wear regular clothes but without any nice of make up or perfume. Everyone has to wear these clothes to be able to participate in the Hajj.

I live in a super conservative town, Bakersfield, and very many people are upset about Barack Obama's win. The night that he won was one of the most exciting nights of my life. I understand that many people don't agree with his ways, and strongly believe McCain should have won. That's okay, but a lot of my peers say things about him being the Anti-Christ, we shouldn't have a ni**** for a president, he's a dirty muslim, and that it's only a short amount of time before he is assassinated. I feel awful for not sticking up for our president elect, but I've never been one for confrontation. I've been so silent and calm about it that people think I like McCain. I can't snooze at night about it, and I really wish I lived in a more liberal town. Even if you don't like Obama, please give me some advice on how to feel better. Resolved Question: Companies Handing Out Voters Incentives?

I was watching the news and they were saying that some companies were giving voters "incentives" eg. Krispy Cream was giving voters a free donut. And Starbucks a free regular coffee.Oh and Ben N Jerrys too they were giving free single scoops. So where can I find any of these in Bakersfield CA? (Note it was on the today show. Resolved Question: Traveling From Los Angeles To Madera, Greyhound or Amtrak?

Hey every. Okay The price is around the same in both Amt and Grey, But heres my thing... I need to know what would receive there faster. The greyhound site says it would take a total of 6 hours and some change, with 2 lay overs on the way. Amtrak, states that its about 5 hours or so. The first half from Amtrak- Los Angeles to Bakersfield - via bus, then from Bakers you board a train to Madera. But the last time I took the Amtrak, which was a longer trip, from Los Angeles to Monterey, The train was 4 HOURS tardy, It said I would arrive in Monterey at 9pm but I didnt arrive until 1am. So Im not sure what would be quicker. What they say on the sights doesnt mean much these days. But maybe with shorter distances its different, Not as many chances for delays. Any ideas? I wish I had a car, or a pal who could take me, but they are every busy on this date that I need to go there. MORE INFO--- Someone asked when I took the train when it was 4 hours tardy. It was Nov of last year. Im pushing towards the train, The route says it will Arrive in Madera around 12:26pm, So I will schedule what I need to do a few hours after noon to be safe. Its for medical reasons!
